iPhone のバックパネルからDラインがなくなる？

iPhone 6 の特徴的なデザインとなっているDラインの樹脂が、新素材の採用で次世代モデルのデザインからなくなる可能性がでてきた。

Appleが iPhone に採用している酸化皮膜処理のアルミ筐体は、その性質から電波を通さず、筐体にライン状の樹脂をデザインしたいわゆるDラインを取り付けている。このデザインは賛否あり、どちらかというと褒められたデザインではない。しかし、Appleが開発、すでに特許を取得した新たしい素材は電波透過に関わる心配がないので、次世代 iPhone では、Dラインが消滅する可能性が高い。機能的には必要だが、デザイン的には無駄な樹脂が使われず、これからはすっきりとしたメタルデザインの筐体が iPhone だけではなく、iPad にも採用されるのだろう。
