新しいMacBookの評価はベンチマークではない

10日発売の MacBook 、未発売ながらベンチマークテストの結果が公開され、その結果が2011年に発売された11インチ MacBook Air と同性能のだったという。

テストされた MacBook は、1.1GHz Intel Core M-5Y31搭載したモデル。結果は、1.8GHz Core i7 プロッセッサ搭載の2011年に発売された MacBook Air と変わらない。なんと4年も前のモデルと同じ性能、どうしたことだ。
今回は発表された MacBook は、最新のIntel Core M プロッセサを搭載しているが、そのスペックがどうのというより、薄くて軽くてバッテリーが長持ちするまったく新しいコンセプトのもとにデザインされたのだから、論点が違うだろう。これからの時代を間違いなくリードするモデルとなるのが、この MacBook である（← ちょっと入れこみすぎか？）。
